Getting Started with Member Functions

Member Functions are reusable calculations you can perform on Members, such as looking up a Member’s age or membership Tier, determining the distance to a Member’s ZIP code, or summing the Metrics accrued by a Member in the last year. Functions allow you to abstract client-specific business logic that can then be invoked in analytic Queries or in Rules.

The platform supports a wide range of standard functions for common lookups and calculations (for more information, see Glossary: Calculation Functions). In addition, you can create custom Member Functions.

From the Member Functions screen, you can view all the Functions defined in your Loyalty account. You can also create new Functions from this screen. To access the Member Functions screen, select Program from the top navigation bar, then select Member Functions from the side navigation menu.
